I haven't forgotten you
Just because I do what I do, doesn't mean my day to day is all rosy and well put together...(I do try to make sure each day is pretty damn good though!).
There are a multitude of conscious decisions everyday to get through the available hours with any semblance of grace.
I went away for the first week of the school holidays, which was super, but I seriously hit the ground running last week. I had every intention to send you a post, but I made a conscious decision. Rather than send you a distracted, crappy, half version of a post, I would not do one at all.
And that's what it is all about. Managing our lives. Sometimes saying No.
However, it's great to be back!
I unplugged, turned off and switched off completely.
This created SPACE not only in my day, but, more importantly, in my HEAD.
It did become a very productive time for streaming thoughts about future posts and ideas for workshops and programmes....which is great news for you!
mental calmness, composure, evenness of temper, esp in a difficult situation
composure, calmness, poise, serenity, self possession
Even saying those words above, makes me feel a little calmer!
Moore Nourishing is about our WHOLE self, so these next few months will be dedicated to weaving the overall theme of EQUANIMITY into our posts, and our yoga classes. There will be a little more emphasis on developing your self care base on the lead up to ......dare I say it...the Chistmas/ Holiday Season.
It’s a reality.
We can’t put it in a box and ignore the coming months. We KNOW how busy we are going to get. Are we going to repeat the SAME OLD PATTERNS this year?
In the post I did on Community, I promised to present you with manageable, sustainable, actionable little bites to help you to help yourselves live well in your world.
Here are a couple of thoughts to plant the seeds of intention - it's a start
- How about we don’t sabotage our efforts.
- How about we start planning now, so that we don’t end up physically depleted, and have emotional drama queen moments, which makes life unbearable for not only you, but for all those around you.
- How about, we pay a little bit more attention to how we move through our days, so instead of the slippery slope, we might already feel like we are on, how about we back up the truck a little, dig our heels in and implement a little self love and routine into our days so we can enjoy (yes!) and manage each and everyday as it comes by.
ATTENTION is our currency and you have the ability to design how you spend it, save it and give it
Great words to ponder...and action.
choc chip cookies
I usually get my scales and ingredients out, put a bowl on them, measure everything into the one bowl. Voila. Done in ten. The mix is crumbly, so I use a small ice cream scoop to place them onto the baking sheet...don't even try to shape them...you will see what I mean if you give it a go.
50g flaked coconut
60g macadamia nut oil
60g maple syrup
100g good quality - 85% - 90% dark eating choc, chopped
Preheat oven to 150
Mix oats, coconut, oil, syrup and egg together
Use your hands to squish together and let sit for 5 minutes to allow oats to soften a little
Add the chocolate to the mix
Form into cookies on a baking sheet
Bake for about 20 minutes - keep an eye on them from 15 minutes, as cooking times will vary
Remove from oven and cool completely.
Will keep for a week in an airtight container.
Rolled quinoa in place of oats for totally gluten free
Honey in place of syrup
Melted Coconut oil or butter in place of oil
Dessicated instead of flaked coconut
Raw Cacao nibs in place of chocolate
A sprinkle of cinnamon, 1/4tspn ginger and some cardamom are also great additions
